1. Syn Emergence
Syn Emergence is a project which examines my own associative relationships between sound, form and space.

The project is constructed according to a range of specific sonic and spatial scale rule sets (micro, component, meso and macro) which I designed as part of a cross-disciplinary notation/cartographic system.

contact: richybevan@gmail.com

The film was conceived as part of my Masters at the Bartlett School of Architecture (Unit 15).

Official Selection : Nemo Festival 2010
Official Selection : onedotzero.com : Terrain 09 Adventures in Motion 2009/10
Sound design: posthuman posthumanmusic.wordpress.com/
Holding track: philip glass - symphony 3 movt 3

I think it is beautiful just by itself. If you think that it is part of a masters in Architecture makes this a great idea-- Thinking out of the box.

Beginning of the universe...Mesmerizing. It would better on a very large screen. Well done.
  •
  • Same question, How did you made it?
Mograph for C4D, Paricular in AE ?

Absolutely AMAZING! It's almost eerie watching the first few bits. Describing this is very hard to put it into words. It's almost like a spiritual journey. I'm reminded of scenes from Stanley Kubrik's 2001.

Thanks for all your very kind words!

I produced the work using a number of different programs (including topmod, rhino, 3dsmax, ae, premiere, soundforge, pro tools, kenaxis, spectrogram), according to a specific rule/notation/cartography set I created .

A very rare work of depth, both as Light and Sonic Impact. I have been making animation since 1972 at Cal Arts and on to SKY-DAVID STUDIO. Great Praise for this "Great Mystery" Gem of Beauty

The perfect match of visual and sound with the sub-text of science. I've been trying to do this for years, now I might as well give up. By far the greatest video I've seen here.

really cool. Good sounds. Would be better if you removed the Phillip Glass track. I don't see what it has to do with the piece at all other than be distracting.
  •
  • Really beautiful, wonderful work. I agree about the sounds, love Glass but the video doesn't really need it.

    Cheers!

Syn emergence... Has this something to do with fractals? Whatever, this is a stunning piece of computer animation. In fact it looks so natural I imagined at first that you blew something up then reversed the film.

This is so exciting! I have audio-visual synesthesia as well, so I'm always looking for people who have tried to show others what this might look like...
I especially love how you used the high-pitched, frantic sounds for those spikey flying things. It's so perfect in relation to the darker clouds and deeper sounds.

really good, might even be better if the cuts were not so fast and the music not so loud... i'd try to develop it more towards the meditational side and abstain from the usual idea of making things overly impressive

Totally Weird and Awesome! :)) As I saw it I thought immediately something about resynthesis... I had thoughts that it must be to created something at the end. Maybe... piece of sugar or.. cell... or something funny )) Approximately after 20 seconds of seeing this beauty I had strange animal feelings - danger or maybe - "waiting for miracle"...
It looks like you can do anything you want on the screen! :)
