    what did you use to animate the elements to the sounds?

    After Effects has a 'Covert Audio to Keyframes' command that can be used to do that.

    There is also a plug-in for AE called Trapecode Sound Keys that outputs keyframes based on the audio. Keyframes that can then be applied to the attributes of any element.

    I'm not sure what was used here, but there's a couple ways!

    the trapcode "form" plugin has some audio features built into the effects controls panel. you can tell it to reference the audio track in the comp.
