This is my 2013 submission for Doritos' annual contest in which filmmakers can submit a 30 second commercial for the opportunity to win a million dollars. I wanted to film a dog catching a frisbee toward the beginning to counterpoint the guy catching the Dorito chip but there just wasn't time to include it in such a short duration without losing some of the comedic tension between my two actors, Alex Zerbe and Stephen Kosinski. I used the uniquely talented Alex in last years submission as well (see Rock o' Dorito).
The shooting itself didn't take more than a couple of hours. The most challenging part was getting the chip in Alex's mouth. He was jumping on a trampoline and we were throwing Doritos at his face repeatedly until I got the shot I wanted.
I wrote, directed, and shot it with my Canon 5D Mark III. The coloring and editing I did with Adobe After Effects and Premiere, respectively. The Brothers' Cartwright (Brandon and Trevor) helped with AD and gaffer duties.
