F.L.Y. Girls, an informal social group, was created by volunteer Natasha Parkins in 2012 to engage and empower New Haven girls aged 8 to 14. The group quickly found a home at the Stetson branch of the New Haven Free Public Library, where branch manager Diane Brown brought library resources and community connections to support the group.

That’s what the New Haven Free Public Library does. We offer books, materials, classes, programs, welcoming buildings, online resources and community networks. With a mission of furthering lifelong learning, economic engagement and cultural connections, the library serves all of New Haven.
