A Vision for the East Side Waterfront
Last year, six of the world's top landscape architects got together to envision what a waterfront park on the East Side of Manhattan would look like in an intensive design workshop known as a "charrette."
The results were presented to the public two days later at a public meeting attended by hundreds of local residents and local politicians.
This video captures the essence of these events from the briefing session in which the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, the State Department of Transportation, and East River Realty presented their goals for the area, the actual design process of the landscape architects; and the final presentation that followed the workshop two days later.
