This is a linkage to the 'Two Black Films by Maurice Lemaitre' essay on my website. In video, you never get 'just' black. Above is a generic tapestry of video blacks with the soundtrack of Lemaitre's 'The Song of Rio Jim'. One of the greatest films of all time and is 'just black'. A modest play on re-imagining the material image, only one encouragement from the film.
