22. Peter Doherty, The Torriano, Kentish Town 20.03.08
5 months ago
Absolutely brilliant, magical night. This is the whole show, so it may take a while to load, but it's worth it. The Torriano is threatened with closure due to the machinations of property developers - please go to torriano-bar.com/ and sign the petition to keep it open.
There are a couple of small skips on the video, and there is some occasional background chat, and very occasionally Peter is more audible than visible, but - oh gosh, just watch it. One of the best shows, ever. (And I've still only been filming for three weeks or so.)

Back from the Dead, Dilly Boys, What A Waster, The Ballad of Grimaldi, Smashing, Death on the Stairs, Albion, Pipey McGraw, What Katie Did, Beg Steal or Borrow, Music When the Lights Go Out, The Whole World Is Our Playground, Can't Stand Me Now

I am writing a piece for the Torriano's local paper the Ham &High about the event. As we are trying to raise the profile of the pubs campaign to stay open.

Does anyone have any stills of the gig that they could email to us at ben.mcpartland@hamhigh.co.uk ??
if so please send them. i will be very grateful.

Nice show! Is he still under treatment or is he drugs free at the moment? I'm sorry to bring this subject up, but I just can't stop thinking he is only giving these small gigs to get fast money so he can spend it on whatever he needs.......

This gig was to help save The Torriano - it was a fundraiser for them, and also to raise awareness of their plight. And these small gigs this week are also warm-ups for his support slot with The Sonics at the Forum on Sunday.

God!! Can't believe I was down the road whilst he was playing... Gutted. Oh well see him at Sonics on Sunday. Thanks for great video x

You're very welcome. I'm trying to find a ticket for The Sonics at the moment, as I've left things a little late as usual, so I may well be outside looking slightly frozen.

Thanks for the video. This is as close to one of his intimate gigs as I'm going to get since I'm in the US. I doubt we will see Pete and his band any time soon here in the States. Thanks again nd.

What a great film ! Thank you NearerDark for your patience producing this.
So special. So glad I was there. Great audience. Should be billed as Peter Doherty and the FDB choir ;-)
