Have you ever wondered how to build a fully functioning cob house for just 250 dollars? Well, a UK farmer has managed to do just that.
59-year-old Michael Buck, spent two years constructing this mushroom-shaped house in the garden of his Oxfordshire home. What makes this house unique is that it's built from scratch using only natural or recycled materials and not a single power tool. He used an ancient building technique of cob from a book to build the house. The technique comes from prehistoric times and involves a mixture of sand, clay, straw, water and earth. What’s more, the property has no main electricity, gas or water supply. But it does have free running water from a nearby spring. Inside, it has a kitchen, dining area and a bunk-styled bed. Incredible, isn’t it?
