A somewhat advanced tutorial on how iterators work, and how you can use them to make animated lines and grids.

Sorry about the keyboard sounds; I'll need to buy an external one eventually I guess.

    Awesome Chris.
    I'll watch ti 50 time and probably get how to use it :)
    Can you post the file? It was a bit hard to see some of the things you were doing.
    Keep them coming!

    You might have better luck with the full version -- that one should be unscaled, so you'll be able to see all the patch titles and tooltips.

  • thanks for that christopher.. the more of these the better..

  • how can we download he full size version? I'm crap at maths and would like to see what formulae you're putting in the math expression patch...

    There's a tab on the right side of this page titled "Downloads" with a link to the original movie. You have to be logged in to see it, but it should be there. Perhaps search the page for "Download Quicktime version"

    cheers Chris, this was spot on. I wouldn't recommend for someone that's just starting in QC, but I could really do with some more stuff like this! :)

    hi chris, i know this is ancient at this point but any chance you could post, as a comment, the two formulae that you're using in the math patches? downloading the movie doesn't help - it's still not possible to read what you're typing. thx!

    the first one is: a * 2 - 1
    the second one is: cos(a * 360 + b * 90)

    Ie, how can I do something like:

    q=0;
    for i=1 to 10
    q=q+random();
    return q

    I want to calculate a sum of a parameter that varies inside an iterator.
    Thanks for any suggestion!
