Black people and all oppressed people got to get over it. Never respond to the oppressor with hate. Always seek to love all persons. Pray for them and wisely reach out to dialogue. Help them grow beyond the misguided ways. Don't do evil but overcome evil with good. This is more effective than name calling or finger pointing. America is a miracle coming into adulthood. 3 persons running for president who were never thought to have a chance. Love people.
Obviously you are not black or oppressed. You can't get over an injustice that was subjected to 6 generations black families. I'll get over it when the opression stops and I get my 40 acres and a mule.
I believe what Dan was saying is that, White folk, if we want to be honest and fair, should have no problem with what Jeremiah Wright said because it is true.
We holler equality, ... as if we are really trying to make it happen, then that "real shit" hit the fan, and then they are stuck looking real stupid...the truth comes out for real..like that "SICKO" flick...
I am a believer in the most high God, not perfect, but the truth will show up eventually, and real people, who truly want change in their hearts and minds.. will start to realize that the most important thing we can do to make our lives purely liberating, is to tell the truth good or bad, correct out mistakes no matter how big.. and work to find harmony in this life...together, stop making color, and gender, and social status, the big issue cause it's not..qualification, intellect, dignity, honor, strength, compassion, and willingness to come together and find solutions is what works..will we love everyone no, but we can respect each other and stop with all this hatred and ignorance..that's to all color of people....
one thing is for sure we will all be judged eventually, from the babies all the way up to the seniors and when you become spirit won't be no skin color, or bank rolls, or properties, or gender.. yah heard...jsut mono e mono with the big fella...he wants your heart and your works..down here on earth..so get busy yall.....
So bravo to you Dan, serve us up one more heaping tasty serving of that good ol' Dantrification!!!
racist ass country we live in, trying to tear apart the only reason for hope these days. what dooshbags, man. trying to spread fear that he's non patriotic, that's he's RACIST - ha!
man, i hope he wins. it's the first time in my life that someone like me -- a kid of color who's parent(s) are from another country and he STILL managed to do good on this uneven playing field called America- is running, and has a chance to be president. if that's not change, i don't know what is.
Here's a link to a moveon.org petition with a link to shocking video that compiles really dirty fox news stories about obama - trying to taint his name by associating him with mao, saddam hussein, and HITLER.
"They" don't want to hear what you, no make that we, (we, because I totally agree) have to say... The truth, even sugar-coated and melted down to remove the "impurities" is hard to swallow... {"We wuz all happy afore we lernt dem bad thangs...." }. Unless "they" revert to their romantic version of the same truth, which has the "us", (representing everyone repressed in the name of the almighty dollar/gold bullion/diamond, and most recently decomposed dinosaur flesh [oil], fat, fed, fulfilled... "They" continue to rely on fear, ignorance, jealousy, and greed (ours and theirs), to continue the divide and to divide, to continue to hide, and to camouflage the real truth... Thanks for a thought provoking introspect into what I was thinking of saying in a crowded room!
As a "black/ mixed male" who is the product of a muticutural family i love what dan said. I also would like to point out that I completely understand how obama felt with his grandmothers racial view due to the fact that my grandmother said "if a black man come president of dis country im moving back a jamaica" Keep up the good work dan!
I am thrilled when a young white American male can stand up and tell the old status quo white America that the jig is up! Say it loud, Dan 'the Man'; you may be white, but you are all right, my brother. One love!
Teach my man, Teach! Just tremendous! I'm very hopeful that this country is indeed changing. It's gonna take greater numbers of young, intelligent white folk speaking the unadulterated truth to the masses to create substantive change. Lord knows, when a black person says the exact same thing, it's received with indifference, if not downright hositility.
Oh my God! You have touched my heart. That was so eye opening on a personal level for me. I am at a place in my life where I am trying to learn to love everyone, but as you know it can be hard. So after getting enlighten by you. I can now start to toughen up and except some opinions. But I must never lose who I am. A strong black female. God Bless.
Wow, my eyes are open now, and it took a racist guy from the internet do it. Obama's spiritual adviser isn't a hate peddling race baiter, he just wants social justice. And if I deign to disagree with this moron I'm the racist. Pastor Wright is too smart to think that the government created the AIDS virus, but he does think his congregation is stupid enough to believe it, so he spits that out from the pulpit along with some great antisemitic 9/11 conspiracies. His congregation remains confused but they know where to focus their anger -- generally America, and our freely elected institutions, and in particular, white Americans. He uses that hate to generate $$$ for his coffers. Now he's retired to a nice all white neighborhood in suburban Chicago. This reflects poorly on Obama because he thought this den of venom was a good place to educate his children spiritually. Thanks for bringing us together Obama. I normally sign out God bless. But maybe I'll modify that. GD Amerika!
Dan.. you are the man... certainly appropiate and well represented. Others including Black, White, Latino, Chinese, Jamaican,etc... should chime in. This is our time... our place... to finally help Obama and others like him take this country to a new level of thinking before it takes us to a level that we all will soon want to forget.
Spirit speaks mountains of truth! Thank God for a vessel such as yourself, Dan & countless others who are only revealing the events proceeding the day of the LORD! It has already been written, now it is being spoken, over and over again. Faith cometh by hearing, and Christ Jesus said, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free!" John 8:32. They have eyes, but see not; they have ears, but hear not!,
I am so Thankful that, "the eyes of the Lord are everywhere looking down on the Good and the EVIL!" Prov.15:3 Fredrick D. even said, "There is no progress without a Struggle!", so on we fight! Keep the Faith! & keep speaking Truth God's Speed!...Peacfo1
TWO THUMBS UP!!!!! Dantrification it's not the colour of your Skin, but the contentd of your Character that allow you to make sound judgements, Unlike UNDEREDUMATKED. I guess that's why it chose the name it did. maybe it should check American History again. "white settlers" and the Native American, The Tuskee Experiment, The American Revolution, the blind is still leading the blind. My Hat is off to YOU MR.DANTRIFICATION
This Dante's inferno came to me at the right time. Last week, I attended this home gathering of professionals concerned about how the economic downturn will negatively impact people of color, a result being intensification of racism.
Dantrification had "Duh" going on in his video, this meeting was nothing but a big "Duh"
It's amazing how people of color humor whites about their blinders. Dantrification is so on point and witty. He was great to watch and listen.
His understanding of the situation had me think he had a black great grandmother--after all we come in all shades. It encouraged me to see someone make the effort to learn the true nature of his society.
I don't like your taste in music, but you're a smart guy. Good luck with the coming election! The world is all there with you, hoping america can change from an embarrassment back in to somewhere people want to be.
About time it came from a 'white' person. Now where the rest of you guys at? You have to show the so called elitist that many have gone beyond the RACE issue. Dammit, my family reunion looks like a UN Bar B Que. I got Polish nephew, African brother-in-law, white nephews, cousins, Mexican in laws, American Indian in-laws. The old pre-concieved notion is that Betty Crocker don't eat chittlins is out the window!
As he said get over yourselves. The playing field is more balanced than ever, and now you don't like it???
It is so said! our nationion and the world At large is in big. . . big trouble. yet WE FIND THE TIME TO worry about the color of our skin. As a black woman born and rqaised in the US. Bro that was one of the best speeches I have heard on any of these sites man , thank God some people still use thses sites in a positive way. I am not just saying that because I'm black, but because I really believe that as human beings we have to move forward and this applies to everything in life nt just race.hope that you go very far in life, we need people who are world changers like yourself.Keep up the good work man you have truly inspired me .
You must also remember that the reason blacks excell at sports was because sports was the ONLY AREA OF AMERICAN LIFE IN WHICH THE RULES WERE CLEARLY DEFINED AND ENFORCED...AND THAT IT'S NOT ENTIRELY BECAUSE BLACKS ARE PHYSICALLY SUPERIOR.
If other areas of American society were fare, black men would have built industries with his muscles instead of just entertaining whites and fighting American wars.
America has a long history of hypocricy towards blacks; and also other nations.
America has survived and endured because of the "good white people" like you, and also slavery abolitionist John Brown.
The story of John Brown is one of the most inspiring Humanitarian stories on record...and the good white people (like you) will have to continue the struggle.
Blacks must now show that they can do more than entertain whites. Obama's presidency is the start of this.
Then, blacks can rebuild Africa and bring it out of poverty and despair.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
AMERICA NEEDS YOUR KIND, BADLY!!!!
Dan...THANK YOU!! Your insight and maturity far exceed what one has come to expect from our young people. I truly hope you find a wider venue for your words, your thoughts, and your opinions. We need to hear more from you. On the subject of racism in America - you are 100% on target. Thanks!!!
Man!! Is this s%$#@T on YOUTUBE DUDE!??? Man, YOU ARE AWESOME! I LOVE YOU DUDE!! And I Thank you for these words...I appreciate it...wholeheartedly..and it's great that you stood up and wrecked like you did...They gon' be sooooooooooo mad w/you! LOLOL
I am an American who happens to be of African descent. I must say young man that was very well said; thank you for saying it. Now maybe more white people will be willing to admit the same thing. Thanks again.
I will pass your video on. Martha
First, let me begin by saying, without equivocation, that Senator Obama’s speech on race in America was amazing. Adding to that, Dan makes a few, but only a few, noteworthy supplemental points. Unfortunately, in my opinion, Dan fails to string together a coherent argument wherein the logical conclusion would be that white people need to get over themselves and toughen up.
As I see it, Dan improperly intertwines at least three broad issues - racism, political accountability, and hegemony of the United States. Now, admittedly, these issues aren’t mutually exclusive, but they can and do at times operate independently of one another. Political accountability, for example, does not always involve issues of racism or US hegemony. Likewise, racism does not always involve political accountability or US hegemony. Thus, the inter-relationship between these issues can and should be conceptualized through a Venn diagram model.
With that in mind, Rev. Wright’s comments, though having some racial tenor, captured a substantial amount of area beyond race. In particular, in a post September 11th sermon, he condemned America for past military activities abroad, claiming that the “chickens have come home to roost.” Therefore, even if we were to not address the statements involving US racial inequalities, there’s still a large portion of “anti-American” comments remaining. In other words, Senator Obama failed to fully address the issue for which many pundits were critical - Wright’s anti-Americanism. And why on earth would he even think of doing so? Can or should anyone honestly accept the attacks of September 11th as a just response to past US military activities? Any politician that condones or appears to condone such a perspective would be committing political suicide, and Senator Obama knows that.
Consequently, Obama did what any adept politician would do under the circumstances, he distracted us. Rather than attempt the difficult task of diffusing Wright’s anti-American statements, Obama seized upon this as an opportunity to discuss race; and by bringing the issue within the racial lense, he thereby insulated himself further from attack on the subject. Indeed, I would consider Senator Obama’s strategy akin to Chief Justice Marshall’s in the seminal case, Marbury v. Madison. There, in the process of establishing original jurisdiction (power to declare statutes unconstitutional), the Chief Justice created a “masterwork of indirection, a brilliant example of [his] capacity to sidestep danger while seeming to court it, to advance in one direction while his opponents are looking in another.” Here the only difference is that where the Chief Justice was misdirecting Congress, Senator Obama misdirected political and media attention away from the core issue – anti-Americanism.
Whether a politician should be forced to denounce someone for anti-American comments is debatable. But in my opinion, it is hardly objectionable that a politician, especially one running for president, should be expected to explain himself with regard to the views of his close associates. Furthermore, it seems inarguable that Obama, on this issue alone, has been unduly subject to attack or criticism. If an advisor of McCain or Clinton had made such comments, I doubt that the media or political opposition would have gone after that respective candidate with any less fervor. And indeed, they shouldn’t.
This is the presidency we’re talking about. How the candidates view the United States - past, present, and future - will effect the policies he/she pursues, and will effect the type of foreign policy he/she conducts. If a candidate agrees that “the chickens have come home to roost,” then we should know that, regardless of whether you agree or disagree. Moreover, the other candidates are entitled to seize upon the statements, this being politics and all.
ThaswhatI'mtawkinabout!!! Right on mah bro, right on.
Just proves that intelligence comes in all colors.
What I appreciate about Brother Dan is that he has lived around, communicated with and been friends with other races. That's the only way you can understand your fellow man. You have to talk with, live with, associate with and open your eyes and ears to that person on the other side of the table.
This brother is REAL, he's no joke and he speaks boatloads of truth.
But his message to White folk had to come from a White folk. Cause Black people have been saying the same things for years. Good to know we have finally been truly heard. Even if only by one person, that's still a start.
Peace Brother Dan, Peace.
Bella
Dan thank you so very much for telling the truth my brother..
To Tritium you're an fu!@# idiot.. The comments that rev. Wright made were qouted from a former US ambassador.. You just like the white media in this country will always tell half truths.. Go and do your homework and find the full speech..
Coming on to this site and trying to use big words.. No other politician has had to apologize for anything that someone asscoiated with them said..
Did Hilary explain herself after her pastor rapped a 7 year old girl?
Oh you didn't know about that huh? Because the media did not report it!!
You deserve anti Americanism in this country it is the most evil nation on the face of the earth!! Obama had to explain why?
No not because he is black but because you and so many other americans are plain racisits!! Brothers and Sisters don't ever say they are doing this because I'm black..
Think about if you do that you're accepting part of the responsibility for something that is not yours.. No they do what they simply because they are racisits..
To underedumatked I guess you call yourself trying to be funny huh? I guess you have not realised that these politicians could care less about you .. So when you lose your house, car or whatever it maybe don't blame us for it..
Like the weak minded person you are.. Blame those that look like you.. They did it and no one else..
Yes the government created AIDS, The government blewup the world trade center... You need to investigate issues on your own and then maybe you would know something factual!!
Question for you underedumatked have you ever saw a building with a whole straight through it caused by an airplane hitting it?
No? that is because a bomb was sent straight through the pentagon!! Many people at that building reported hearing a loud whsitling noise before the explosion..
Sounds like a bomb to me genius..
Dan we need more people like you in this country!! God bless you!!
Thank you for your comments. They're much appreciated, and wow, insightful as well. I would like to respond, briefly. First, you are correct, Rev. Wright was quoting Ambassador Peck. However, using someone else's words to your own end in no way absolves you of responsibility for using those words. Second, Rev. Wright's sermon that I referred to (whether you agree or disagree with it) stated that America has essentially engaged in terrorism and the consequence was the attack on Sept. 11.
That said, clearly you didn't understand my original comment. Viewing the U.S. as a terrorist nation or a nation having conducted terrorist activities involves an issue which transcends racism. I don't care what race a spiritual or political adviser is, if they are an adviser to a candidate, then we should want to know if the candidate agrees with this viewpoint. And therefore, the media should push the issue until they and the public are satisfied.
That's one of the problems, Tritium -- you don't care if someone is a spiritual or political adviser -- only when it comes to a person of color! Tell that crap to Falwell, Billy Graham -- I don't remember anyone being asked to disown them for their outrageous remarks. The U.S. has some explaining to do. This country, which I love, is the biggest terrorist organization in the world! Embrace the flaws so that they can be fixed. It doesn't mean you aren't patriotic. Hell, Rev. Wright is a former MARINE -- he earned my right and yours to be ignorant. Only difference -- I know I am. You appear to be still fighting your ignorance on this matter. Stop being such a sucker for a sound bite!
OK, Dan, if I were closer to your age, I would be flying to your city to kiss you for days! You are the coolest, smartest, hippest, most straight-talkin', deepest dude evah!
And you have spoken the truth that so many of us know but so few of us admit or say.
I applaud you, I blow you kisses, I send you a giant hug, and then I genuflect. :D
Where was Wright wrong? Did he lie? Maybe he was a bit too stident for non-black ears, but that style of presentation can be found in any number of black churches on any Sunday. How soon some forget that this country used to be owned by American Indians and Mexicans. I'm not quibbling with the fact that superior weaponry and genocidal tendencies helped to win America for those now in control. But, how can they quibble with the "chickens coming home to roost" statement? Wright didn't have to damn America, the powers that be are well into the process of doing that on their own. Actions speak louder than words. I'm just glad that what needed to be said about the race issue has been said, and I'm happy to see that there is at least one white person who really gets it. Sincere thanks for your insights and your courage to share them.
Roger Trammell
This young man expresses the sentiments of a lot of white people. There were many, many whites who believed in and agreed with Martin Luther King, Jr. as he spoke for what is right during his days in the national and international eye, but they were afraid of retaliation. Clearly their beliefs and convictions were passed down through their generations. We also need to understand there are people in positions above the president. Those who are at the top of the food chain in control of the utilities, industry, fuel, food distribution, trade, the medical industry and sciences, finances and the media. I'm sure most of you have heard of the G8. The president doesn't run the country alone. We all need to understand that very important fact. When you've got the wrong people in charge, the only result is corruption followed by chaos. We've lived with the corruption for centuries. Now we're headed toward chaos. Obama speaks the truth and if he's elected, he'll still face many challenges, but if we put him in office we need to support him more than we've ever supported any president. I hope he wins, because he looks at this nation for what it really is and is not afraid to speak his mind. His concern is for everyone, not just blacks, or just whites, or any individual nation represented by the citizens living here. I believe this is why so many white people will vote for him. It is time for a change, and if anyone can bring it, it is Obama!
I posted my first comment before I listened to Dantrification's video, and he simply spoke the truth, but he's a young man with a real heart, understanding that we are all different, in and out of our portions of the human race. He's got a real head on his shoulders and knows, like many of us, that he doesn't need anyone's permission to speak the truth. How could Obama not respond to the media's reaction to what Rev. Wright said? That was or is his pastor. He did the right thing. He had no choice. He too, is a black man who dealt with racism in his own family. The problem those idiots had with that is the fact that he spoke it, told it like it was and is, because his experience with racism is personal. Only an idiot and a racist would have been surprised.
The things Rev. Wright spoke of did happen and are still happening. He spoke the facts, but God doesn't have to damn America. America has done a good job of that already. And yes, the chickens are coming home to roost. The media hand picks the people who are most vocal on racism because the media is racist. Anyone who doesn't know that is either blind, deaf or simply dead from the inside out. Rev. Wright had every right to say what he did. Who doesn't have the right to speak the truth? The bottom line is, racists can't handle the truth about themselves. Yeah, they need to get over themselves.
Who ARE you?! Where have you been all my life?! When I hear people like you, it gives me hope that we really can move on and become what the US was meant to be. It takes ALL of us working together. Thank you for knowing that and sharing it with the world. Keep up the good work!!!!!!
Bro - is there any way you can get on FOX news? It would be SO good if you could bring this message to white folks so that they can see someone like them make the same argument Obama and Rev. Wright have been trying to make. It makes me feel like there is hope. As a new citizen to this country, it has been truly disheartening to hear the crap being spewed by "pundits" and "experts" commenting on this race. I'm glad to hear one white voice of reason, albeit in the background. Keep it coming!!!
Wow. How clear, how crisp, how right. I recently took a course on Race in the South -- and came to the conclusion that we cannot JUST move on - we must examine and accept where we have been. Oh why am I trying to say anything when Dan said it so perfectly. A keeper.
Hey googly eyed Dan! Now that Obama has turned his back on the most wrong Rev. Wright, and I guess tacitly on his own community ("I can no more turn my back on Wright than I can turn my back on the Black Community" - BHO). Who will you and your sycophantic lemming brothers back? Wright or Obama. Give us a 100 words on how Wright is wrong or perhaps on how Obama is a typical politician. Go!
Ok that was 5 words. I'll count the exclamation points as words too - that makes 8. You've got 92 more to go. Try to string a couple thoughts together, moron. What's wrong you afraid of a little dissent from your love in?

One more thing, I still love you my under educated, bigoted, mildly retarded brother.
Typical response from the Stalinist left no contet but plenty of name calling. If you disent you are rasist and stupid (did you forget to call me a facist?). Yawn.
Well regardless, the Democrat party is now stuck with a sure loser. Obama will never win Florida or Ohio and there's a good chance he'll loose Pennsylvania and Michigan. You'll say its because Americans are bigots, but the truth is Obama is a typical politician with very little crossover appeal, and frankly your name calling proves it. There are as many "Obamicans" out there as Neocons on the NYT Editorial board. I think James Carville put it well a few weeks ago, "There's a name for the candidate that counts on the youth vote... they call him the loser." By the time the election comes around Obama's image will be one of a typical Democrat with old ideas and bizarre uncertain ties to wacky preachers and 60's domestic terrorists. You guys better hope Hillary pulls it out, 'cause I'm pretty sure you'll be crying in your fool-aid when McCain is sworn in.
Brother Dantrification,
I am so glad the young are paying attention to their future.Your speech was deep and profound.I truly hope AMERICA wakes up because the WHOLE WORLD is watching us.Thank you for your powerful insights on racism and the double standards that WHITE AMERICA continously play over and over again. This country needs to CHANGE its ways before it is too late.I believe we are inspire by the likes of OBAMA as true and patriotic.
the best video regardin obama and wright ever!!! but don't u think wright's comments r killin obama in the polls? but seriously, u have said a lot of things black folks r afraid to say - and unfortunately, that's gr8!
This was awesome if any person had said it. However, because the brother was white it comes from a different place of insight. A person can look and see nothing, then a person can look and see everything. Thanks to you for looking with your ears and you eyes. There is a Black cause in America and it will take whites to begin to do more than just feel something. It is time for a change. And, if any other African American read this remember that there have been, are, and will be whites to step to the side. This video needs national attention. Thanks again. From a Black man who has no choice but to be Black.
all white people need to see this so,they can see that white supremacy is DEAD and something new is COMING.thank God for Farrakhan and the Million Man March because that's what got the ball rolling in a new direction.
Where's the White audience - the ones to whom this msg is directed? This msg is not news to Black folks. CALLING ALL WHITE FOLKS TO LEND AN EAR AND LISTEN UP FOR A FEW MINUTES. Hope Dan's msg reaches White America and effects a positive change in that regard. I suppose that hearing the unvarnished truths about yourselves is a hard pill to swallow but I know you can do it. I have faith in ya! Peace out!
I love dialoging with you guys. I just can't help myself.
Here's a new rub. One of the most infamous symbols of America's racist past was the 3/5's compromise of 1787, whereby slaves were considered only 3/5 of a person in the census. Today Howard B. Dean and Barack H. Obama are preparing the 1/2 compromise of 2008, whereby all minority* Democrat primary voters in Michigan and Florida will only be considered half a person comparatively. How offensive is that!
Make every vote count. Stop vote suppresion in the unDemocratic party. Peace, love and as aways, GD Amerika
PS A friend recently expained the Wright statement to me this way. Wright didn't mean G D America but rather G D ... America. As one might say G D ... this is a tasty slice of apple pie. Hmmm...
*aren't we all part of some minority, I am, for example Lithuanian/Italian
Sometimes the truth hurts. Like an injection to cure disease. Get over it, accept who and what we are, make needed changes and move the heck on.
What a breath of fresh air.
Thanks a billion.
As an inhabitant of Kenya, and having only visited US a couple of times, I have to say that I find US very racist. It is not solely White vs Black though; I heard and saw just as much Black vs White. Not sure why this is but it just seems to be the case. Any explanation would be great.
Dan, I hope that you read each comment with a big Cheshire cat grin, because you have helped continue the dialog.
Just like any discussion, each person will take away from Obama’s speech and Reverend Wright’s sermon what resonates with them. For many, what resounds is the struggle this country continues with respect to the concept of “the other” be it race, ethnicity, religion, or whatever. For some what hits home is the perceived lack of patriotism. Others will adopt a wider lens, attempting to take it all in and decide what it means to them regarding who they are and in what they believe. And, then, there is the group that will take this opportunity to continue to divide and conquer.
Tritium and underedumatked, I will assume that you are not part of the latter group, and that you are genuinely interested in having a meaningful discussion about the many things that the Obama campaign, in general, is bringing to the forefront. I admit - I have my doubts, especially with underedumatked. Such a screen name suggests that you either have issues with being “classified” or you are taking a sardonic poke at whom you believe is your audience. With that said, is it possible to conceive that many of those applauding Dan do not, in any way, perceive either Obama’s or Rev. Wright’s speeches as unpatriotic? For them, the dichotomy of living in a country where the effects of institutionalized oppression are evident and still loving that very country is a fact of life and as natural as breathing. On the other hand, is it not perfectly conceivable that Obama’s speech does serve the purpose that Tritium highlighted with respect to political maneuvering?
What people continue to do in this debate is to not face the many truths. They pick what resonates and ignore the rest. This reaction is a typical defense mechanism designed to protect oneself from not fully analyzing an argument, especially the parts that make one personally uncomfortable. This defense mechanism allows one to latch onto the perceived anti-American comments of Rev. Wright, but ignore the truth in his words about the African American experience in this country. This defense mechanism makes it easy for one to call another a “dumbass” who does not categorically agree with and challenges the points of Dan’s video essay. Furthermore, this defense mechanism facilitates statements labeling Obama as the typical politician despite history’s showing he is anything but. My greatest hope in this entire debate is that just a fraction of you do a little self-analysis and admit to that truth you are currently ignoring. Admit to yourself why that truth upsets you, why that truth rattles your core values and challenges your beliefs. What you find might scare you, but at least it’s the truth.
Nice words, friend. Unfortunately, like Obama's speeches, in the final estimation quite meaningless. Let's go point by point.
We'll start with my moniker. I don't mind being "classified" so please feel free. I personally think the practice usually says more about the classifier than the classified. I took my name from Dan's post when he, in elitist and condescending tones, characterized the majority of white Americans as bigoted and undereducated. You're wrong Dan. I believe it's a direct quote, but feel free to watch his post again to double check me (I'd do it myself but twice was enough). I gladly accept this title and hope to illustrate the absurdity of his original statement. I hate this elitism, and I apologize if my anger seeps through when I discuss it. In some ways Dan's elitism is reflective of one of my complaints against Obama (remember the cling to God and guns statement). And yes, its possible to grow up in a single parent lower income household and become an elitist. Do you think that elitism can only come in one Thurston Powel III monocle wearing mold? I also considered the name "White Goldstein" as I was absolutely disgusted by Dan's thinly veiled antisemitism in his description of the archetypal law firm of "White, White and Goldstein." Thank you Dan for going "far enough" we all know now that you believe in a dark cabal of Jews and Ivy league types conspiring against you. I can't believe out of all these posts not one person stood up to say "Hey, WTF!"
Here's the part you aren't going to like at all. Yes, sorry to say I am in strong opposition to Obama and any other socialist who tries to sneak into power under the guise of populism. He is actively concealing his beliefs, and the Rev. Wright issue is a perfect example of it. Obama dis-invited the reverend to the announcement of his candidacy. Namely because he knew he was a political liability. When questions were asked... "you're taking him out of context" When that didn't sell... ta da ... The Greatest Speech Ever.
And then, in our little microcosm, Dan's post trying to guilt me into swallowing the pill. Listen friends, I'm no racist but I will risk being called one to stand up for something I truly believe. And that is that Rev. Wright is a hateful man who has used race, and worse yet people's faith, to enrich himself at the cost of unity and frankly the sanity of his own parishioners. If you don't believe me look at the number of people who believe his lies that our government created the AIDS virus to kill blacks. I'm sorry if you believe that crap, I'm gonna have to lump you in with the holocaust deniers, 9/11 conspiracy theorists, and other hate mongering crazies. Can Rev. Wright, a former marine, be anti-American. Hell yeah, ever heard of Lee Harvey Oswald?
Did Barack give another good speech, yes he did. Did he make some good points about America and race? Sure... like Dan though, nothing I haven't heard before. Obama sat in this man's pews for 20 years. He officiated his marriage and baptised his children. Obama was right in his speech, he can not divorce himself from the reverend, as much as he would like to at this point. Now Obama's thrown his reverend under the bus with his white grandmother in a desperate attempt to reconcile his image. If that's not political expediency then I don't know what is. This is where he showed he is a typical politician. Sorry, it must hurt you true believers, and I'm not being sarcastic I know how much it blows when the veil is lifted and you see the truth. Its a simple manipulation, he convinces you of your discontent (you probably don't require a lot of help there) and then before you hit rock bottom offers you the carrot. "I can lead you to the light, the truth,... if you can only hope... can you do that one little thing... hope... believe... in me." Then you're done, your his little mind numbed robot. Don't believe me? Read up on Saul Alinsky, Barak's true mentor
(google: obamas_alinsky_jujitsu.html).
So if you are reading this post and you think that maybe Obama is too inexperienced or too indiscernible or too liberal to be President then join me in voting for someone else. Will people call you a racist for disagreeing with them? Yes. I know... its been happening to me a lot lately. Brush it off... you're not. Unless of course you are... and in that case screw you, I hate racists.
Here's the reality and life as true as it gets. Those that hold the wealth make the rules. White people have nothing to get over. Blacks on the other hand, especially American Blacks, need to get over [it=Racism] and find more productive and better ways to deal with [it=racism] so they can control a greater amount of the economic piece of the pie because that's the missing part of the solution to deal with racial hatred. In my personal opinion it's never about race and always about [money=greed] and always has been. If that were not true Africa would have stayed closed to outsiders just like China did, and reaped the benefits although I do believe to some extent it would have evolved into a socialist nitemare at some stage because of what I see going on in Africa today. All of the Latin American countries are currently in that state which is one of the reasons they are so easily exploited. Think of a place like Brazil? Tons of resources and still dirt poor and still considered to some extend a 3rd world entity with a middle class still struggling to make it unlike what we have in America and the world's second largest population of blacks. Dantrification is nothing more than a demagogue, unlike Sharpton and Jackson and a few others, he just won't be making any money trying stir up emotions. Had these Blacks been Jews they'd just stop complaining and start their own organizations. And once America is gone where can Blacks complain about racism and also have the power to change their economic fate without selling their souls or risking death? No money in Africa or economy, they'd be dead in a week in China or Russia, any suggestions if we lose America? Don't like white schools? Start your own. If they don't want blacks in a town, start your own. Don't like Mayor Daley? Start your own city. Don't want blacks dating your women? Find a place where that's not a problem. In America there's a ton of them. Whites are holding the cards because Blacks continue to allow them to. Black people just don't get it ..Of course there is truth to what dantrification is saying, but does the message contribute to solving the racial problem in this country, better yet does it allow blacks to change and deal with whatever dilemma more effectively and the answer is "no!". If what Dantrification is saying really mattered how come the smallest group of people in the entire world based on the percentage of total population are the most successful as a group, and have contributed the most, more than half of the technological inventions just in the last century alone? Many of these technologies many of us around the world take for granted. These people have been expelled from every major country in the world over the last 3000 years. They have endured the same level of hatred as Blacks but they still manage to hold more Advanced degrees per capita than any other demographic. They don't have a 60 % out of wedlock birth rate. Why Blacks continue to do this and not realize the negative long term consequences I do not understand. That alone is killing Black youth. And by the way do any of you know who those group of people are? I'll give a hint. Their Covenant is the primary catalyst behind much of their economic success and technological contribution. And they were directly responsible for what we know as the Bible and Koran?????? Who are they????
As far as Mr. Wright is concerned, most of what he says is Historically accurate and just plain untrue. I could respect his opinion if he weren't twisting and lying to arouse emotion. For example, his right/ left brain theory is bullshit. And I bet you 1,000,000.00$ that most of the people that agreed with that rhetoric alone didn't know what right/left brain theory was all about. Those that know understand that right/ left brain theory is more based on experience and genetics than race. Wright is an asshole and what he should be doing like every other group in this country is sticking with His People. But like most of us know Blacks do not stick together, not like Asians, Whites, or Hispanics, and after reading a great deal of African history I can honestly tell you that this has been a problem from the very beginning. It's why they [whom every they may be] were able to kill Malcolm and King. As stated by a white r
Black Person

As he said get over yourselves. The playing field is more balanced than ever, and now you don't like it???

You must also remember that the reason blacks excell at sports was because sports was the ONLY AREA OF AMERICAN LIFE IN WHICH THE RULES WERE CLEARLY DEFINED AND ENFORCED...AND THAT IT'S NOT ENTIRELY BECAUSE BLACKS ARE PHYSICALLY SUPERIOR.
If other areas of American society were fare, black men would have built industries with his muscles instead of just entertaining whites and fighting American wars.
America has a long history of hypocricy towards blacks; and also other nations.
Well said. Thanks!!
Love,
Toni Sea
I will pass your video on. Martha
Bella
TGlenn
And you have spoken the truth that so many of us know but so few of us admit or say.
I applaud you, I blow you kisses, I send you a giant hug, and then I genuflect. :D
Roger Trammell
The things Rev. Wright spoke of did happen and are still happening. He spoke the facts, but God doesn't have to damn America. America has done a good job of that already. And yes, the chickens are coming home to roost. The media hand picks the people who are most vocal on racism because the media is racist. Anyone who doesn't know that is either blind, deaf or simply dead from the inside out. Rev. Wright had every right to say what he did. Who doesn't have the right to speak the truth? The bottom line is, racists can't handle the truth about themselves. Yeah, they need to get over themselves.
...j/k. But thank god for educated, open minded individuals who have the cojones to say what needs to be said. Keep fighting the good fight!!

There's your 100 words, no need to count the exclamations!!!!
One more thing, I still love you my under educated, bigoted, mildly retarded brother.
I am so glad the young are paying attention to their future.Your speech was deep and profound.I truly hope AMERICA wakes up because the WHOLE WORLD is watching us.Thank you for your powerful insights on racism and the double standards that WHITE AMERICA continously play over and over again. This country needs to CHANGE its ways before it is too late.I believe we are inspire by the likes of OBAMA as true and patriotic.
thank you for this. Continue the enlightenment.
Bless,
J
Couldn't have said it better and if I did, they would have held it as an "excuse" because I'm black!
You did you thing!
all white people need to see this so,they can see that white supremacy is DEAD and something new is COMING.thank God for Farrakhan and the Million Man March because that's what got the ball rolling in a new direction.
What a breath of fresh air.
Thanks a billion.
Dantrification,
Here's the reality and life as true as it gets.
