Jim Rugh, consultant and former Coordinator for Design, Monitoring and Evaluation for Care International
Evaluation Center: November 21, 2007
After learning good evaluation theory, it can be a rude awakening when you begin practicing in the real world – a world where all too often there was no baseline, there can't be a comparison group, there is little time, a very limited budget, and political pressures, yet your clients expect "rigorous impact evaluation"! What's a conscientious evaluator to do?! Jim Rugh, who has led workshops on the subject at American Evaluation Association conferences and in many countries, will present a very brief overview of the RealWorld Evaluation approach (see book, Sage 2006) and then facilitate a discussion on the issues raised.
