The Thai and Vietnamese team of the Gratitude project visited Nigeria in August 2013. Here Chu Ky Son from the School of Biotechnology and Food Technology at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Vietnam, tells us how he found the experience on a visit to 'Thai Farms'; a cassava processing industry in Nigeria.
The visit was to facilitate south-south interaction through the Gratitude project. The Gratitude project (Gains from Losses of Root and Tuber Crops) is an EU FP7 project led by the Natural Resources Institute (NRI), University of Greenwich UK, in collaboration with 15 other organisations, to help find solutions that will reduce waste from post-harvest losses of root and tuber crops and turn unavoidable waste into something of value. fp7-gratitude.eu
