This short video is the story of a 32-year-old Pakistani woman who survived a brutal acid attack after her brother did not participate in an arranged marriage. Although not responsible for her brother's decision, like many women, was blamed and suffered the consequences, losing one of her ears and experiencing severe facial burns. Thanks to USAID's Gender Equity Program, she participated in photography training and started to gain more confidence in her personal life. She is using her new skills to earn an income and hopes to start a professional photography business.
