On the Edge Trail 2
I revised the One the Edge Video--actually only the soundtrack. I got the idea for the bridge from a bike ride at the Pacific Science Center. They have a 30 foot circular pipe about 20 feet off the ground. The bicycle has a counterweight hanging down so you won't tip over and fall making the loop. Of course, there is a safety catch too. Anyway, I liked the idea of riding with almost nothing under you. When you talked about railroads and trestles, I thought a trike could balance on three narrow tracks--the narrower the better--to give the illusion of riding on water. I wanted to inject a little humor into the video, contrasting my failed attempt to walk on water with my successful attempt to ride on it. So I replaced the music with a gospel song--You've Drifted Too Far From Shore. Maybe coming to Jesus will trigger people's association with walking on water. Of course, too far from shore is kind of a mockery of the tiny waterways in the video. The second song is 500 miles--overstatement since I was never more than 500 feet from home. All this begins with the applause at the beginning of the music performance, to make fun of someone with enough delusions of grandeur to make a video of himself.
