Images from the Flood Room, a water tight enclosure constructed within a studio of New York artist Richard Tsao. Born in Thailand, Richard combines his native affinity to history and the colorful natural world with complexity of urban American culture. His paintings slowly come to life within this surreal space through numerous processes that alternate between spontaneous manipulations such as pouring and spattering, and utilization of time and gravity to let the surface flow, settle, and dry.
