Extracts of Denise Black in a new show "Birth Of The Musical". A journey through the mad age between the world wars. Homage to the songs and songwriters who made the early musicals. Mr Sand tinkles the ivories and Mr Taylor plucks and strums. Songs include "My Handyman, "The Affair", "Brother Can You Spare A Dime", "After You Get What You Want You Don't Want It", "Broadway Goes Hollywood","Toot Toot Tootsie". Denise Black is a regular fixture on British television. She started out in alternative cabaret at the beginning of Jongleurs and Malc Hardee's Tunnel Palladium, later with the Kray Sisters. Paul Sand is a songwriter who has written over 30 musicals and operattas. Graeme Taylor is MD of War Horse, plays in the pit on Matilda and his band Home Service recently won BBC 'best live act' folk award. Filmed at the Pheasantry by Blue Canary Films
