Inspired by Bill Viola's 'The Passing' (1991), René Magritte’s “The Treachery of Images”(1928/29) and Jørgen Leth's '66 scenes from America' (1981) (Andy Warhol eating a hamburger), I present a film of my close friends and family, edited and manipulated. An attempt at creating nostalgic, self indulgent and personal film footage and then pointing out its flaws and deceptions. "People are taken at face value or given small everyday tasks to perform... the spectacle of people putting on their surfaces" (A Graf, D Scheunemann, 2007, 273) This is a representation of reality, a play of reality, not reality in itself.
