Excavation is a recursive process. The voices of the different team members are recorded as written entries into the unit sheets and feature sheets, but so much more is left unsaid.
Each excavator struggles to fill out the required fields that make you painfully aware of the continuous process of the interplay of observation, responses and interpretation.
They are also recorded as part of the excavation database as written diary entries and his video diaries. Video is used as the medium through which the events of observation, responses and interpretation are recorded in real time.
By this means, the archaeological processes made transparent and the authority of the archaeologist is broken down.
