This short animation is part of 3 films made by HUG and young people from Millburn Academy. HUG is a collective advocacy group from the Highlands of Scotland and we aim to speak out about our lives, services and treatment and challenge stigma and discrimination.

This film shows the negative words and language that some young people use to talk about people living with a mental illness. The animation is followed by 2 short testimonies from Margaret and Graham, both of whom have personal experience of mental health problems.

All the best, Emma Thomas, HUG Advocacy Worker

Please use the film to generate discussion with young people in schools, youth groups and at home to explore ideas, perceptions and attitudes towards mental illness.

Best wishes. the HUG team
