Haifa cable cars as seen from the high end, near Stella Maris church. This was filmed on a Canon HV30 which as usual would benefit greatly from a Neutral Density filter on a bright sunny day like this. Some nice panoramic views of Haifa bay as well.

I was handholding the cam, but where possible I propped my elbows against a low fence at the lookout point for stability. Sometimes I used my camera bag as a beanbag-type support to make the panoramic sweeps. This cam is far too light to rely on my own muscles alone for steadiness.

For anyone interested, the file I uploaded was encoded at 5Mbps using Mainconcept h.264 codec in Vegas. From the results on the Vimeo site I think the bitrate is too low and plan to replace the file soon. I've been experimenting with different settings and think that 8Mbps XVID is the way to go. It is quite a bit sharper than Sony or MC h.264 at the same bitrate. Hope it solves this banding problem too.

And my wide commented that she's never seen such bad parking before - people leaving ships all over the road like that!

Nice video! Quick question: was this at dusk? I love the reddish hue but I wonder if this is caused by the sun, neutral density filter or different W/B mode?

Hi Lucien. I used the cloudy WB setting to provide the reddish cast. Thought it looked nice.
