what do you use for stabilization? tripod? and shots from side to side?
  • Philip Bloom 5 months ago
a tripod. What do you mean side to side? You mean the pans?
  •
  • Michal Furda 5 months ago
is not in these video, at all your videos use only tripod? Because letus doing effect of movement... not only rotating.
  • Philip Bloom 5 months ago
sorry really confused. All except the trench are 100% shot on a tripod. What does "letus doing effect of movement...not only rotating" mean?

great color control! I like how each shot seems to have a single point of red that pops against the more earthy backdrop.

beautifully done, really excellent work. impressive how you achieve such deep blacks without any gain or noise, with the Z1. If you told me this was shot on a CineAlta, I would have believed it. Only part of it is the grading, I think, the rest is just excellent camerawork.

What codec did you use to export this clip? I noticed that your clips are much clearer than mine and you're almost at half the bitrate!

Phil, was it tough to focus the Z1 with the LEX? As u know the macro on the Z1/Fx1 isnt that good so I was wondering if a spacer is required bet the LEX n the Z1. Frankly do u think LEX over the Brevis flip iin terms of performance for the Z1?
  •
  • Philip Bloom 4 months ago
Hi, it was fine. the expanded focus works well. You dont need spacers for the lex and Z1. I have never used the brevis flip on the z1 so couldnt comment!

It keeps amazing me. I must love that slow paced poetic genre I think.
Letus and Z1 seem to work out very wel for the desired look.
One of your best shorts Philip.
