So many people came out of their warm house and showed the true spirit of Christmas. They showed that they cared about all of GOD's Children.
Defenders For Children has faced many challenges on making this happen since the previous Christmas float was stolen. Yet, we all still walked with strength. So many people from the side of the street saw a glimpse of hope as Defenders For Children walked down the Main Street of Greenville. Marines stood as Defenders for our children. Children and teens wrapped themselves in Blankets of Hope and the children that were watching from the side seeing that they are not alone. Eighty walkers wore a scarf around their neck from the scraps of the blankets. This float was meaningful to so many people in so many different ways.
I believe we could get the award for the most emotional and eclectic Christmas float ever! An angel, a Grinch, a little red wagon, a stuffed bear that was the only item left from the stolen float, a borrowed float, Blankets of Hope, Marines, scarfs, signs, santa, dedication to a fallen soldier that worked on the stolen float and many caring hearts is everything that made up this years Christmas float. This is proof that it takes all kinds to stand for the children.
Merry Christmas from Defenders For Children. Please take a moment to watch this video.
