  • CHEMI plus 1 year ago
  • Alejandro Voorduin 1 year ago

  • J. Xavier Velasco plus 2 years ago

you might have answered this question in another language:P did you use all natural lighting? and how did you pull of the hovering effect?
  • J. Xavier Velasco plus 1 year ago
We shot the city parts using source lighting. Sometimes we filled some areas with a sungun or a cheap led flashlinght. In the woods we used natural lighting and a 2K tungsten for the climax.
The last shot is a composite :p and the feet hoevering is just the actor lifting himself. We shot this for almost no money, so we tried to keep it simple!

    Your video is amazing
  •
  • mostly 50mm, also 100mm and a 24-105 (t/4), we had a 135mm and a 300mm but those shots were cut out due to a readjustment in the narrative. The 28mm use is sparse.
    :-)
  • (its actually harder to focus on the wide lenses without some kind of z-finder; hoping to buy one soon)

    Thanks 4 d nice comments!
  •
  • im sorry im confused , did you use a 7d or a 5d? thanks.... amazing narrative short btw.

The narration and the ending were fantastic. But the shots of him walking around felt a bit generic-though they were beautiful! [which I can't say enough] I just think that generic shots no matter how pretty don't make up for visual storytelling.
I did enjoy this and overall I think its a good video but wished that his journey in the beginning was even a tiny bit more comprehensible.
Anyway, those are just my thoughts.
