On Friday, December 6th, Lutheran Church Charities' President Tim Hetzner and Emmersion's Steve Marks sat down with Gary Manier, the mayor of Washington, Illinois. Manier discussed the current situation and needs of Washington as they enter the 4th week of disaster relief. He stressed the need for more volunteers. Manier also shared with Hetzner and Marks that Washington is a faith-based community and he believes that is what saved many lives because the tornado struck their community on the morning of Sunday, November 17th when many people were in their churches. Listen in as he talks in detail how this has strengthened his faith and the faith of many in the community.
