Undoubtedly one of the most popular Indian rock songs of all time, "But It Rained" is inspired by a magazine article about kidnapped tourists in Kashmir, and is a dedication to those who are left behind waiting (and hoping). Parikrama is one of India's oldest and most respected rock bands, and the video for this song was released in 2001, on their 10th anniversary.
Directed by Dhiraj Bannerjee, the cast of the video includes prominent actors Sushant Singh (Satya, Jungle, Josh) and Akangsha Rawat along with child actor Princy and, of course, the band. The video was shot at Spiti Valley in the Himalayas, at an altitude of over 13,000 feet above sea level, with a crew of more than 60 people, over 1,000kms of mountains in just five days.
