UCI BMX Supercross #2 Final from Camp Woodward West 2004

Round Two of the UCI BMX Supercross discipline was held at Camp Woodward West in California. The date was May 2nd, 2004 and the word is now out that this format of BMX racing is going to be in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. All the fast guys were there to line up for a chance at one of the most awesome BMX tracks, EVER! With 50 foot plus jumps and blazing speeds down the race course carved out of the side of a mountain, this race was going to be one of the best ever!

Mike Day was THE man to beat, winning the time trial and looking like he was going to race to the finish. BUT, as BMX Racing does sometimes, there was a change of events and Derek Betcher blasted out of the pack in the main event to take the win with Mike breathing down his back tire as they sailed across the Finish Line, practically side by side!
