Presentation recorded by Alan K. Prichard for the 5th World Conference on Three-D Fabrics and Their Applications in Delhi, India. Mr. Prichard speaks on the potential opportunities for 3D weaving in the aerospace industry, making a case that those who work in weaving and fabric construction have previously been a vitally productive part of aerospace and could be again. Mr. Prichard works as a consultant (prichard-consluting.com) after having retired from Boeing, where he worked on advanced aerospace projects, including the 747-400 and 777. He is a recognized expert on the application of carbon fiber and 3D weaving in the aerospace industry, and he was named a Fellow of the British Aeronautical Society for Outstanding Contributions to Aerospace in 2011.
