► "Asakura Choso Kan" was the private residence and studio of sculptor, Fumio Asakura (1883 - 1964) - He designed all four wings (ranging from 1 to 3 floors each) of the residence himself, including the backyard garden, serving as a peaceful centerpoint of his home. After his death, his family opened the place to the public in 1967, serving both as a museum of his work, but also to showcase the architecture as well as the backyard garden. It's an amazing little slice of old Tokyo in the middle of "new Tokyo"
and well worth a visit. - Enjoy!
