Raynox WA and ND filter. Color auto correction. I have no idea how to use Color, so I let it do it on its own.

BigD, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this-did you get the effect that you intended to? And what you had hoped for?

When I first saw the action from PCH my thought was to get between the sun and surfers, with the sun at my back. But as I walked toward the beach I was taken by the setting sun and the haze it created mixing with the fog rolling in, and thought it would be neat if I could capture that on video. So I knew I would have to put on my ND filter shooting toward the setting sun. I really like the shot of the 3 people walking by the surf. The two farthest away are in focus and the last guy comes into screen out of focus.
What I am most impressed with is how color took my footage, which was too bright and washed out, and made it look so close to what I actually saw.

    The colours are amazing!

The chromatic aberration is very strong in some shots, you zoomed in through the converter, right?

I have one question though, is your ND filter before or after the WA converter?

thanks for the comment. In the shots of the 3 people in front of the water, and the 2 guys flying their kites, I was fully zoomed in on my wide angle. I attach the ND to the end of the wide lens.

Nice shot, I love the smooth panning and the still camera shot. You really captured the scene. Again the music matches the video.

Thanks Carlos. I was really happy with the way this video came out. I think the HV20 really captured a beautiful day at the beach.

    Something happened at 1:01.
Love the last tilt and pan on the closing shot. Real smooth.

That was me changing the shutter speed during shooting.

6600 right? I'm thinking about buying one
  • bigd1971 4 months ago
Yep, thats the one I got. I am very happy with it. It came with the camera as part of the kit I bought from B&H. I have nothing to compare it to, but I think it is a great lens.

Thanks Justin. The music is an Apple Loop that came with Final Cut Studio and I don't remember the name of it.
