Ok can't we just try to strike a balance between the two lives ? I've been - and still- an internet addict , but recently I've been trying to change that , sign off more often , write in twitter & facebook mostly in weekends and try to stay away the rest of the week ( that doesn't include checking!) , but signing out for ever .. for ever? dun think so . there are people I really care about - relatives , old school friends- whom i can't get in touch with in the real life , so this option is just not for me .

Now there is one thing I don't understand. You delete your entire internet life and say it is better because you now have a real life. Then you make a video about it and post it to Vimeo. Isn't that your internet life?

I feel sad for those who say they are internet addicts. I feel sad for those who say they "can't do without facebook/twitter/myspace etc.". Sados...

If you ask me to make a list of the only things useful about the internet I will give you these: research/study, info gathering, online orderring, movies, shows and musics, weather updates, address finding/direction finding/maps, instant messaging, email and my university's intranet (yes even youtube is not so high on my list). But come to think of it, virtually all of those were possible without the internet, only on a slower scale.

So internet addicts? Really? Is that how weak, inable and powerless society has become? You need facebook to stay in touch with people who is important to you?! What happened to the phone?! I mean ok it costs, but instant messaging? Oh but theres no pictures? Well there is actually. Besides, I don't need pictures, people describing what happened at where (just like stories our grans used to tell us) is more than enough until WE GO AND LIVE IT IN PERSON. For me social networking DEAD means real life socialising ALIVE. Get out of that box you "addicts" put yourselves in and look around, this is Earth.
