Plenary session delivered by Rukhsana Khan at the 2009 ArtsSmarts eXchange.

With so many forms of entertainment vying for the attention of teachers and students, it often helps for schools to work with artists to explore new ways of learning and connecting with their work. In this presentation, Rukhsana highlights the importance of overcoming obstacles and taking advantage of learning opportunities in celebrating literacy, diversity and the immigrant experience. Rukhsana will highlight her book, A New Life/Coming to Canada.
