NPR news anchor Jean Cochran's last newscast took place on Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. After 33 years with NPR, Cochran had accepted a voluntary buyout and plans to pursue voice over, or possibly consulting work now that she has left.
Cochran said she was looking forward to a more normal workday as well. Up until today, she said, her workday consisted of getting up at 2 a.m., getting to work by 3 a.m. and heading home at noon.
