Trailer for a retrospective documentary made on the 30th anniversary of the 1981 Summer riots. Disturbances which shook the British state and establishment to the core. St Paul's. Moss Side. Brixton, Nottingham. Leeds and Handsworth all experienced civil unrest...and in Toxteth - Liverpool, unique in the sense that the first use of CS Gas on mainland Britain was recorded and the multicultural background of people rioting, both black and white youths, rebelling against 'stop and search' and discriminatory heavy-handed policing in a predominantly ethnic suburb of Liverpool.
In the ensuing chaos, a young man was killed by a Police vehicle. Joe Farrag, who was involved in the melee that night, recalls the events.
