When Ryan saw Lisa for the first time, the only words he could mutter, directly following an excited, nervous, deep sigh, were, 'Oh man."
That about sums it up.
I have the honor and the privilege to see a lot of weddings and be a part of many marriage stories. Oftentimes, I'm not sure the couple has really put a whole lot of thought into the marriage part - we all get so caught up in the wedding details and the fun/stress/craziness that comes with throwing such an incredible party.
But Ryan and Lisa knew what they were getting into, and that's what makes their story all the more beautiful.
I've already listened to their wedding sermon a dozen times. I know I'll listen to it a few more. It's a reflection of love, but it is also a true testament to how we should all start our marriage; surrounded by our friends and family who will hold us accountable to the incredible commitment made in front of those folks. Lisa and Ryan did just that, and it was honestly one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
Lisa and Ryan: thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your big day. I'm humbled and grateful. Congratulations!
