Beekeeping for Beginners is designed for anyone eager to learn about bees and bee culture. The class will give a brief overview of the life cycle of bees. It addresses the role of bees and beekeeping in a healthy ecosystem. It summarizes equipment needs for beekeepers; how to purchase bees; and where to locate bee hives. Time and tasks for hive management will also be considered. The class will conclude with a honey tasting and a review of bee-keeping’s more tangible benefits, from honey and wax to propolis and pollen.
