A video work that is a reaction to the American right’s obstruction of progress for homosexual inclusion in mainstream politics. The game of hopscotch appears as an allegory to characterize the tendency of these political debates to skip from issue to issue without reaching resolution. The video is shot in the manner of a surveillance camera; critiquing borderline ethical uses to observe supposedly threating communities. A boy wearing a white dress appears as the character in the video, his gestures and movements observed and dissected by the camera. As he repeats the game, his sense of resolve gradually disappears. Hopscotch, when played alone does not produce a winner.
