Even though spring is officially here, there's still some snow about.

Every shot was taken by myself. (I completely forgot that my mother had a Canon Rebel XTi laying around from this past Christmas.) They're all manual focus. Once again, this is a first. A few shots are a bit out of focus.

This one's dedicated to Vimeo. I've only been around for a week or so, but so much inspiration has come from this site, this community. Make this a personal thanks from me to everyone who has encouraged me here at Vimeo to go above and beyond!

Those are some pretty interesting shots. I like the close up of the tire treads. Is that yellow thing a swing seat?
Did you use iMovie to edit this?

Viemo is a great site. I just started being active here a month or so ago. I was taken by the HD video quality I saw on here. That convinced me to get the Canon HV20.

People like you show that you do not need expensive equipment to produce interesting, funny, and creative videos. Keep creating and entertaining us.

    Yes, it's a swing set.
    Yes, I used iMovie '08.
And, as before, thanks for your support! It was a pretty fun video to make. Just going outside with the camera and taking shot after shot is great.

Tell me, how do you like iMovie '08. Have you prior experience with iMovie older versions?
  • Jordan Beck 4 months ago
I don't have any experience with other versions. It's not all that bad, it gets the job done. I'd like to see more customization though, more transitions/titles/effects would be nice.

You can download iMovie 06 here apple.com/support/downloads/imovieHD6.html

I think iMovie 06 may have more of what you are looking for. It has some features that iMovie 08 got rid of for some reason. I tried 08 and did not like it at all. I think that is because I was so used to 06.

Thanks a ton. I'll get right on it, see which I like better.

It seems all the tutorials on YouTube and such are for iMovie '06, so I'll definitely be able to do more with it.

Your welcome and I am sure you will enjoy it. Just don't go crazy with the weird transitions and stuff. "Keep it simple" really applies when doing video, but you already have shown you know how to do that in your videos so far. I really like the fact that 06 has a separate track for video and two tracks for audio. And the timeline is a vital feature that I could not do without.

Nice work! I always tell my photo students to get closer, and that's what you are doing.
I think you might have iMovie HD ('06) hidden in your applications folder. A lot of users like it better than the new one. I think there is a lot more control.

Thanks for the support. I'll look into the iMovie HD.

  • i enjoyed this a lot. <3

Thanks. I used to like it a lot... then I watched it time over time and realized how slow and boring the beginning is.

I learn. Thanks for the like, by the way. Means a lot.
  • Don't worry Jordan, I'm like that with ALL my videos..the more i watch them the more i hate them. haha. At least other people have fresh eyes and can see the goodness that we originally intended to make <3

Nice music choice. I like shot of the red rusty thing (slide?).
