In 1992 Barry Stutesman and the Michigan Magazine TV crew ventured into the Vanderbilt Michigan wilderness to meet with the Schinlder family. Pete, his wife Cathy along with their three young children carved out a life in the backwood. Pete and Cathy built, from scratch, a cabin in the woods....no electric, no running water or phone. Their life revolved around the "music" they played at county fairs and special events...known throughout the state as Sneaky Pete and His Forever Family Band. It was an amazing visit...Well in 2012 Barry caught up with the entire family as they performed at the Ogemaw county fair near West Branch.......Barry Sat and talked with the family who since went there separate ways....but owe much to the experience of growing up in that little cabin in the woods.....Here's the reunion with Michigan Magazine!
