The famous Brazilian soccer player Ronaldo and the coach of Brazilian's team Mano Menezes, were brought in to reinforce Guaraná as 'the most social brand in Brazil'.
Guaraná Antarctica was about to become the first Brazilian brand to reach the 5 million fans on Facebook and we decided to promote a football match against another nation that had 5 million inhabitants - Costa Rica.
The brand celebrated the mark with a soccer game between a team of Guaraná fans and the national team from Costa Rica.
The Guaraná team was the first soccer team in the world to have its players picked via Facebook. Players whose wanted to be picked would use an app to send videos of themselves playing soccer.
Among the 240 top players rated by the fans on Fan Page, the best players were chosen by the Brazilian national team coach, Mano Menezes.
