Since 1967, the Alyeska Mighty Mites has been a volunteer-operated, weekend ski racing program for children ages 7-13. The goal of the program is to introduce the fundamentals of alpine ski racing to young children.

The Mighty Mite Program strives to promote self-confidence, a sense of accomplishment, good sportsmanship and a FUN, positive racing experiences for children. Many Mighty Mite coaches grew up skiing at Alyeska, and like to share their experience with new generations of skiers. Whether a child has an Olympic goal, or just wants to have fun, Mighty Mites can provide the foundation for a lifelong love of skiing.

Mighty Mites captures the balance between racing and free skiing, offering 5 races throughout the season, opportunities to train gates, as well as ample time to explore the entire mountain with their coach and group.

The Mighty Mite Program shares the use of the Race Training Center, informally known as the RTC. This is the two story building right in front of Chair 4. Mighty Mites can change, store their gear, and eat lunch in the building during the day. The Masters, UAA Ski Team, Juniors and Devos all share the space so Mighty Mite Groups take turns picking up garbage and vacuuming at the end of each Sunday.
