It took us more than 7 hours to get from Solo to Jogja. It was by far our slowest ride, the rain didn't stop that night. But having accompanied by our friends from Solo and Malang made us feel warm enough to enjoy the long ride. We arrived at Jogja around 2 o'clock in the morning, and we got a race to attend to that same evening.
YK Midnight Criterium was rad. So many people came from all over Java. The track was awesome, filled with many technical turns and a few long straights, and it was wet - it was nowhere near boring. But it's not so much about the race that made it for us. It was the people we met. We felt very welcomed. Everybody was talking to everybody. That we don't see on too many events, especially in Jakarta. Hands up for Fixedkaskus Yk for creating such an environment.
Big thanks to our friends from Plumbers Yk for letting us stay at their place. Every cyclist in the world should stay over at Padepokan at least once in their lives ;) Events like these reminds us that Fixed Gear culture still lives and in fact growing to a whole new level.
