"Enkin" introduces a new handheld navigation concept. It displays location-based content in a unique way that bridges the gap between reality and classic map-like representations. It combines GPS, orientation sensors, 3D graphics, live video, several web services, and a novel user interface into an intuitive and light navigation system for mobile devices.

Just found out about this project:
esa.int/esaCP/SEMK2B3XQEF_index_1.html#subhead2
Its amazing to see the recent increase in geolocalisation research.
I just want to say, that your navigation device is a realy REALY good idea! Congratz!
Sometimes, I wish such thing for my grandparents, so that they have the connection between the map and their surrounding to better find their auto-route :).
Greets, Andreas
very basic, just data u overlay over live video, but the local awareness doesnt come from interpreting that live video, comes from gps and accelerometer vs geo db.
its too simple to be impressive.
Any eta on when you hope to release this and will it only be available for Android, i.e. Symbian s60 maybe??
As for Dukeswharf's question, we do not have a definite release date yet, nor can we make any predictions about supported platforms. Our focus, however, is still on Android.
You will find future announcements on these and other issues in our blog: enkinblog.blogspot.com
I new the stuff from "tonchidot".
But this looks quite real! :)
