I love the Red Line. Just wanted to make something interesting out of some unused footage.

Dream preset in Color.

I did get asked to leave by L.A.'s finest. You can see them walking towards me. I guess it is suspicious to sit on the platform with a video camera for 15 minutes.

heh, you recorded the conversation with the cops? :) don't they usually make you turn off the cam first :)

    nice glow btw

They had no idea the camera was running. It was sitting on the floor with my mini tripod down almost at floor level.

Thats a nice look you've got there, almost blurred. How did you get it to look that way?
  • bigd1971 8 months ago
I used Color. It has a preset that I believe is called Dream Cool.

What is "Color"? Is it a plugin for Vegas?
  • bigd1971 8 months ago
No Color is a program that comes packaged with Final Cut Pro Studio. I only use Mac. I have done a bit of stuff with Vegas in the past, but I really prefer FCP.

ok, what is more suspicious, a camera enthusiast or a hooded person, peeking out of the doorway and then deciding go back in? You decide...

Love the closing shot and added sound. BTW, these are my stomping grounds BigD!

I really liked the shot of that guy stopping in the door and peeking out. You can't really see it because of the color correction, but as he turned away and started walking back into the train, there is a camera flash that goes off when he pauses. It is almost as if he was posing for someone inside.
I really liked that music, and I thought it fit well with the color correction.

I liked how it had a ghostish mood, if that makes any sense. All of the people were like spirits.

    Very nice job.
  • bigd1971 8 months ago
Thanks Jordan. That really does make sense and that was exactly the mood I was looking for. That is why I used the cross dissolve transition, varying its length throughout. Watching this again makes me want to do more at this location and along the same theme. I think there may be a story in there somewhere.

Loved the sound. I'm watching 'Lost in Translation' right now - a mood that fits this footage very well. Didn't know LA had a subway :) Back to the movie... ;)

Thanks Rico. Lost in Translation eh, I saw that a few years back. It definitely had a mood to it. I remember feeling heavy, almost depressed or oppressed watching that movie. It has been a while though. Get back to it.

Once again, great work! Perhaps you should share your videos and getting hassled by cops with local media. It's ridiculous. I DO NOT see any "No filming" notice anywhere at these stations.

I was kind of annoyed at first. But now I don't think it is that big of a deal. I was just sitting there shooting for about 15 minutes before they approached me. I think it may be a L.A. Metro policy.
