Economic relations between Australia and the United States has had a long history.
What you are viewing is evidence of this.
This object would have been in it's prime most probably in the 1920's.
From the time it became obsolete it has sat in the desert exposed to Australia harsh outback environment.

Can you guess what it is before the end of the clip?

(PS: I wish I had a HD cam so you could see it's true textures)

Hello Stephen -- as one Aussie on Vimeo to another: very nicely done! The music you selected was also great -- what was it? You say "Some Friends" : are they really friends is is that a group?

Hello Arnold, Thanks very much for the compliment.

I recorded it myself via the cam at a wedding. Two members of the group were the bride and groom and are good friends of mine. This should also explain the very warm audience you hear in the background.

They are a group but also all good friends who just do the odd street preformances and private get togethers from time to time.

They play very unique music with a good mixture of instruments as well.
I shall pass on your compliments.

I love that music too Stephen. Prerfect for film and with an aussie tint.
How did you make your image rectangle from 16:9 to 16:6?

    Hi Pierre!
    Thanks for your kind words.
The wonderfull music is by Makadin.
(Makadin is an eclectic and vibrant music and dance troupe that entertain and interact whilst delivering Middle Eastern music and dance flavoured with Didge, African Fusion and a touch of Bollywood.)

On the aspect ratio - Well I'm not too sure. I did know I wanted it to be small as SD footage seems clearer when squished down.
I'm pretty new to editing and compression so it was just trial and error till it looked right.
    information on this clip says:
    Width : 720 pixels
    Height : 304 pixels
    Display Aspect ratio : 2.35
That's about all I can tell you sorry.
