Circular Influences I experiments with computer-assisted interactivity with video. Projected images hang in mid-space, and can be viewed on both sides. Sequences of falling snow are combined with moving images of people in crowds. The amount of visibility, speed and transparency of resulting image depends on people’s proximity to the screen. Details of gesture within the images are revealed differently, depending on which side one chooses to stand. The audience can experience the footage repetitively, enjoying familiar experiences and seeking new ones from the same source material.
