Making Of THE ART OF FACTS STUFF SACK, in Korean "Gyo Ryeon Bok" Camo.

The STUFF SACK is a reversible, outdoor-style bag you can use everyday. Stuff some clothes in it, roll it up, and it becomes a handy travel pillow. Use it for long rides, camping trips, grocery runs, bike rides, the gym - wherever, for whatever.

It was designed in the USA and individually handmade in Korea by seamstresses with over 40 years of experience. We used all-Korean materials, including vintage fabrics and mostly natural and/or recyclable materials, making it machine-washable and minimizing its environmental impact.

The cotton fabric used in this bag design is a deadstock, unused fabric printed with a Korean camouflage pattern called "Gyo Ryeon Bok", which can be literally translated as "School Training Uniform".

This black & white camo pattern was used in Korea for uniforms worn during pre-military training exercises. These exercises were mandatory for male junior high school students and began in the 1970s, until they were discontinued in the early 1990s. Conscription in military service is required for all male Korean citizens between the ages of 18 - 35, for a period of at least 21 months - third longest in the world behind Israel and Singapore.
