Each of our lives can be qualified as a pursuit. We are all following after something in this life. The thing we chase ultimately comes to define the types of lives we lead and may even be so penetrating as to define the type of person we become. We were born to run and we tend to chase what we value most.
The write of Hebrews exhorts us to chase God! No, He's not running from us, the question remains as to whether or not we are running TO Him. What does it mean to diligently seek God? What happens when this begins to characterize our lives? We are taught in this message that it is impossible to bring pleasure to God apart from a pursuit of faith that leads us more deeply into understanding He who rules us. The rewards for those who do so are unlimited.
Few professing Christians seem to embrace this kind of life-philosophy. The ones who do so experience rewards and blessings that others can never know. May the listener be challenged deeply to cast off all that holds him back as he commits to a passionate pursuit of knowing God.
