Welcome to the New Grand Narrative Artist Profiles, a series of sweet little vids we shot with some of our Kickstart artists about their projects and what inspired them.

Based around our festival theme, New Grand Narrative, the videos are just little taste of what’s to come in the lead up to festival launch.

Next up is visual artist Phuong Ngo, whose 2014 Next Wave Festival project, Article 14.1, sees him living off the limited rations his parent's had as boat people. Perhaps ironically recorded at a Vietnamese restaurant in Richmond, Phuong speaks of his fathers experience as a people smuggler in the 1980's.
