I have distinct memories of making up songs just like this at her age. Once i tried to do it in front of many other people, without my parent's knowledge, at a school talent show.
Still embarrassed about that to this day and it was probably the last time I ever did it.

First I have pretzel feet here in Texas at 2:00am in the morning due to my rockin girls who are all sick (17, 13, and 9) We do not have footage to recant with but this brings back soooo many memories. Daughter number three is actually good and taking voice lessons. THANKS Katie will have to look into the "Girls Rock Camp in Austin! We love you Leta!

It reminds me of when I was little and we were going to "The Smokeys" and the whole way there I was singing a song about a bear. :-) Does anyone besides me grind their teeth together when something is just unbearably cute? That gave me TMJ!

This clip brought joy to my heart... and I've been having a sad time lately. I love everything about it. I love the timeless girlish devotion to princesses. I love the timeless girlish drive to be an "entertainer". I love her commitment to the song. I love that she thanks her audience at the end like a good rock star. Mostly, I love the hair, and how its pretty much the same in both videos. She is unique and wonderful in every way. Thanks for sharing.

    Awesome sauce!

    ..."when the day comes", indeed!

    sidenote:
I have my son (now teen aged) on audio cassette at 3 years old singing his "I am 3 years old" song. Don't think it doesn't make me teary and giggly at the same time! *cuz it does*

I think that making up your own songs is a sign of great intelligence... I'm 25 and I made up a song to sing to my dog when I give him a bath. See, intelligence!!!!

She is such a beautiful, funny little girl. I hear my 4yr singing upstairs to her dolls all the time. I need to videotape it for her so I can embarrass her as a teenager.

she said 'thank you mom'. Keep that. You'll need it when she's 15.

I love how she tried to stick the microphone wire into the door thingy. My daugher (same age) would have done the same thing!

What she lacks in actual song lyrics that make sense, she more than makes up for with enthusiasm and the thank yous!

that was precious. this could be premature, but she seemed to have the inflections and movements that you see in people that perform live. i know she's young, but she has something. it would not be surprising when both of her parents are crazy talented.

I love when she twirls the microphone cord around her finger. I would definitely vote for an American Idol who did that.

Okay, she is beautiful. Also, I made up a song last night that went something like this.... Oh, I have a big belly. But that's better than being smelly. Even though I might smell a bit too. I hope she continues with her musical talents, even if it is just singing to herself before she goes to bed.

I have a tape of when I was younger and my sister and I decided to sing "In the Jungle" while jumping from bed to bed in our bedroom. Cause we had to be the monkeys too. :) LOL, just be glad you don't have a choir yet to back her up and mess up the beds.

My five year old belts out Feliz Navidad with some serious attitude. Even in April.

    Leta is pretty cute too.
