O’Festers got a special treat last year in Monterey. For a set donation to the BMW CCA Foundation, members were given the ride of their lives around the famed Laguna Seca Raceway. You could even ride shotgun with Alpina CEO Andreas “Andy” Bovensiepen, who flew in a B6 GT3 race car and a limited-edition B3 GT3 from Germany just for the event! Bovensiepen gave some unforgettable tire-squealing rides around the track, to the delight of those lucky enough to buy a slot early in the day, as each session sold out in a matter of hours.
Tom Plucinsky and Matt Rusell of BMW NA were also on hand, giving rides in the 335d Advanced Diesel race car, and Mike Renner of the BMW Performance Center provided rides in his One Lap BMW M6.
The money collected for the Charity Rides went to support the Foundation's three principal programs: the Library/Museum and Archive, Street Survival, and Historic Preservation.
